Joe Zabel is an author, comix illustrator, and painter best known for his work illustrating American Splendor by the late Harvey Pekar.
Zabel published the mystery comic The Trespassers, created webcomics for Modern Tales, and edited The Webcomics Examiner. After Modern Tales, Zabel broadened his creative path to focus on paintings and short fiction.
In more recent years he’s brought what he learned back to his favorite medium with a series of anthology comics, starting with Emperor Tom and Other Stories.
He has recently launched the webcomic Offbeat Tales.
